We are searching for a talented Director, Patient Access. This position has oversite of facility registration for 24hr operations across Southcoast Hospital Systems. Responsible for direct oversite of centralized operations for Scheduling, Authorizations, Referrals and Pre-Registration while supporting standardization within the system where functions are decentralized in the practices & hospitals.

Compensation: Pay rate will be determined based on level of experience. 

 

Responsibilities

Position reports to the Vice President of Rev Cycle or designee. Responsible for the operations associated with Front End Revenue Cycle and Access Management for system entities including but not limited to, Southcoast Physician Group and Southcoast Hospitals Group and associated off sites. Provide assistance to other related entities in the area of revenue cycle and access management as requested. Lead the development, implementation and maintenance of a system-wide process of gathering patient information and ensuring that all patients are registered in an accurate and timely manner. The areas of responsibility encompass, but are not limited to Patient Scheduling, Care Connect and Answering Service, Inpatient Admissions, Surgical Day Services, Outpatient Clinics, Outpatient Ancillary Services (Radiology, Lab, Physical Medicine, etc.), Central Authorization Unit, Access Education, Outreach Registration and Patient Financial Services. Define and adopt a best practice access model across the continuum to become a patient friendly center of excellence. Collaborate closely with the Finance and Revenue teams to ensure optimum reimbursement for all services performed. Work to optimize timely services to patients at all points within the system.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field or equivalent experience is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • Knowledge of current technology and practices related to revenue cycle activities is required.
  • A familiarity and working knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT-4 coding and the dependency of Diagnostic and Procedure Coding compatibility are required.
  • Strong analytical, organizational and project management skills are required.
  • Proficient skills with Epic, Microsoft Office, i.e. Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint are required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in a related position in healthcare, (in Revenue Cycle) is required.

  • 3 years in a leadership role utilizing EPIC in Patient Access in a consolidated model of Physician and Hospital is required.

  • Ability to understand EPIC workflows related to Patient Access; including Referrals, Authorization & Scheduling is required.

     

  • Ability to impact change and oversee processes that are both centralized and decentralized within the system.   

Pay Range

USD $103,459.00 - USD $185,000.00 /Yr.
