Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Director of Philanthropy & Development, the Senior Advancement Officer (SAO) requires a results-oriented, detailed, and collaborative approach to best fulfill multiple duties encompassing both leadership for staff and direct fundraising responsibilities. The SAO will exhibit a strong team mindset and be a trusted thought leader and strategic partner for the Director and Team. The SAO will work collaboratively with colleagues from the Brand & Strategy Division to achieve departmental goals and objectives. The SAO will lead and manage a team of Advancement Officers to achieve fundraising goals and objectives. Build and maintain a portfolio of Principal Gift prospects capable of giving $100,000+ annually to support system-wide philanthropic priorities and is responsible for achieving financial goals. The SAO will actively cultivate and engage external relationships to support prospect moves management and be an ambassador for the Mission and impact of Southcoast Health in the community.

Qualifications

  • Leadership experience and aptitude required.
  • Bachelor's degree in related field or master's degree preferred or the equivalent education and experience are required.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of philanthropy principles and specifically healthcare fundraising with evidence of progressive success and responsibilities preferred.
  • Experience in Philanthropy or sales metrics, strategic planning and implementation required.
  • Experience with fundraising or sales team management required.
  • Strong organizational and motivational skills required.
  • Extraordinary attention to detail and ability to manage multiple competing priorities with minimal supervision.
  • High level of integrity and a commitment to high performance and teamwork.
  • Takes initiative to problem solve and the ability to work collaboratively within a large, complex organization.
  • Familiarity with development software (i.e., Raisers Edge) and Internet Resources preferred.
  • Five years (5) experience in development required; experience in healthcare/medical field preferred, as is knowledge of health care.
  • Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired

Pay Range

USD $84,073.60 - USD $141,294.40 /Yr.
