Hours: 40 10A - 6P

Shift: Day/Evening: Weekend, holiday, call

Responsibilities

  • Position reports to the Physician-in-Chief of Psychiatry, receiving oversight and supervision from a Psychiatrist.
  • Perform diversified consultation-liaison and emergency department psychiatry services as directed, and in support of Southcoast Department of Psychiatry and Southcoast Physician Group, under the rules and regulations of Massachusetts governing Nurse Practitioner practice.
  • Provide weekend coverage in rotation with other Departmental clinicians as directed.
  • Participate in quality improvement endeavors as indicated, and assure adequate, timely, appropriate medical record documentation and billing.

Qualifications

 

  • Experience in adult behavioral health population, appreciating specific interest or experience in Substance Use Disorders and/or Geriatrics.
  • Demonstrated standards of excellence, respect, communication, courtesy, enthusiasm, initiative and teamwork with the ability to develop complex patient management recommendations in consultation with attending Psychiatrist - is required.
  • Minimum of one year of clinical experience required.
  • Nurse Practitioner: Current license to practice in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a Registered Nurse.
  • Certification (or current eligibility) issued by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to practice as a Registered Nurse in an expanded role is required.
  • Current Nurse Practitioner license is required.
